Sam's room is the home base for all of your Storybook Anytime fun. To access all of the stories you have purchased, simply click on the bookshelves, and you will see your entire personal library. Remember, you get one free story when you download the application, so you can download it into your library, even if you don't have an account. Any time you want to get back to Sam's room, just click "My Stuff", and you're right back there.

Points are awarded based on the successful completion of various activities within Storybook Anytime. You can earn Super Reader points by answering the comprehension questions that follow each story. The points are awarded as follows:

• Readers receive 10 points for each correct answer.
• Readers receive 5 bonus points just for trying to answer all of the questions.
• No points are awarded or deducted for wrong answers.

An Internet connection is required to setup your account, browse our online store, purchase items, or download free items. However, an Internet connection is NOT required to read stories or access activities that you have purchased and downloaded to your local library (My Stuff).

Storybook Anytime has made every effort to make sure that your child has a fun and safe experience at our site. We comply with all Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requirements and have added a few of our own precautions as well. For example, the purchase and download of an item (other than free items) cannot be initiated without entering your account username and password. This prevents children from making any purchases without a parent's involvement. Also, modification of account information cannot be initiated without that same account username and password. Your child can browse our online store and access any stories or activities that you have purchased or downloaded without your username and password, so there is no need to share this information with your child.

Kid Mode is a feature that we created with the youngest readers in mind. It will remove the header menu and footer system so that children can easily focus on Sam's Interactive Reader stories and activities without accidentally mis-clicking to another section of the site. This mode can be toggled on and off by using the keyboard commands CTRL+K (Windows) or CMD+K (Mac).

Creating an account requires a valid credit card. This is to insure that someone over 18 is authorizing money transactions (COPPA requirement); however, an account is not required to download free items. Your credit card data is securely stored on both your local machine and Storybook Anytime servers, and we do not share ANY of our account information with third party companies.

You do not need separate accounts for multiple computers in your home or in your family. Up to five computers can share a single account and they are synced automatically when necessary. While browsing the online library, items that have been purchased or downloaded in the past will be labeled "I own it!" and can be downloaded again, for free, to authorized computers. This feature allows you to add more than one computer in your home to an existing account or recover lost data. See the "Recovering Data or Using Multiple Computers" section below for details on this process.

Free and "I Own It" items can always be downloaded instantly and without debit to your credit card or gift card. All purchases are deducted from the gift card balances first. If the balance on the gift card does not cover the purchase price, your gift card will be debited and the remaining balance charged to your credit card. Credit cards are billed at the time of purchase only.

Your credit card data is transmitted via SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to our secure servers during account management only. When you purchase items from our store, our commerce engine uses the securely stored credit card data on our server to authorize the transaction. This reduces the number of times your sensitive data is transmitted via the Internet.

You can authorize up to five (5) computers in your home to use a single account. The computers are synced automatically, so gift card balances and account information are always current on each computer. To add another computer to an existing account, follow these simple steps:

After installing Sam's Interactive Reader software on the new computer, choose the "I Have an Account" option under the "my Account" section.

Then log in with your Storybook Anytime username and password to recover your account information and automatically set up your account.

Once your account has been set up, you can browse the Online Store. You will see that items you have purchased or downloaded in the past are labeled as "I Own It!" These items are now available for a free and instant download to your new computer. You will need to download them again to use them on your new computer.

Gift card and promo codes can be redeemed via the "My Account" section of the application. Gift card purchases online are electronic only. This means that a gift card number is generated and emailed to a recipient of your choice, or you can print them out to use as gifts. If you wish to purchase a gift card for yourself or someone else, go to our "Purchase Gift Cards" section.

When connected to the Internet, the software will automatically check for new versions when launched. If a new version is available, it will automatically download and install. Updates are required and cannot be bypassed, but should not take more than a few seconds to a minute to fully download and install if you are using a high-speed connection. This insures that you have the latest Storybook Anytime feature sets.

Sam's Interactive Reader will send you an email receipt after every purchase or download with the exception of free downloads. You will also receive an email any time your account settings are modified or updated. This is to insure that you are aware of any account changes that have occurred. From time to time, Storybook Anytime will email our account holders with information on new and exciting products, feature enhancements, or news.
